Keann Johnson: The Boy Rising to the Stars
After Keann started his career in the TV show "Wattpad Shows" back in 2014, his career has only been going upward from there. From dramas like "Santigar", "Destiny", and now the most recent "The Boy Foretold by the Stars" released in 2020, Keann Johnson has quickly shown himself to be a newcomer actor rising to the stars! Born in Illinois, USA, at the peak of December 6, 1999, Keann Johnson is currently studying for a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Our Lady of Fatima University. As a working student, Kean Johnson has to balance studies, modeling, and acting simultaneously.
With the release of "The Boy Foretold by The Stars", a movie released back in 2020, Keann Johnson has caught attention as a newcomer actor. The movie received 12 award nominations for the 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival Awards, and it won Best Original Theme Song, Gender Sensitivity Award, and 2nd Best Picture. With the success of the series, everyone is looking forward to the series version in the works.
Here, Keann played Luke Armada, the main lead who finds himself in a religious retreat, discovering destiny and even choosing his path in love. Keann Johnson's acting was raw and natural, showing a smooth play of the character. He brought Luke Armada to life on screen from comedic, romantic, and emotional scenes with his fantastic acting.
Keann himself is not afraid of accepting risky projects and can even pull off the soft boy look with pure confidence. When asked what his favourite fashion style was, he replied: "I have no favourites, I like to try them all like Indie, Soft boy, Eboy, Streetwear, Smart Casual, Formal, and so much more."
Q&A with Keann Johnson
Q. How did you get into acting?
I started as a model and was discovered by my manager. He asked me if I was interested in acting and said that I could be a leading man. At that time, I was at a point where I wanted to explore and eventually realized that I started enjoying what I was doing. That's when I got my first few commercials and then got a few shows din on the network and film.
Q. What made you take on the role of Luke Armada?
Mainly because of the story. The journey of Luke & Dominic hooked me, and the character description of Luke fit my persona. I wanted to test my limits in acting and wanted to give a good representation.
Q. What was it like to work with the cast and producers of The Boy Foretold by the Stars?
It was amazing working with a group so talented and filled with energy. I felt comfortable with my co-stars on set, and it's partly the reason why I was able to give it my all. In short, an unforgettable experience.
Q. Are there any memorable memories you made while filming?
Yes, there are. The best memories I've made are the bond the cast and I have created throughout making this movie. And I think that's why we became a powerful group.
Q. Which scene did you have the most difficulty with in acting?
The heavy emotional scenes. Because, like any actor, you need to find that hook that'll get you to open up your character and your partner. And if you lose focus, it's going to be difficult to play off the scene.
Q. What kind of acting roles do you want to take in the future?
As an actor, your goal is to portray any role set out for you. So I want to be very versatile in the future. But one answer that comes to mind is to be a villain. Knowing my personality, it’s going to be a challenge trying to channel the inner evil side of me.

Q. What are your inspirations in life?
God is always number one next to family. They’re the reason I'm here right now and I can't thank them enough for all of the Blessings I've gotten.
Q. What are your hobbies?
I love playing video games, reading, watching anime, playing the acoustic or bass, guitar, and spending loads of family time.
Q. Are there any acting roles you want to avoid in the future?
Only roles that are part of a project that sends a bad message. As an artist, you're also a role model to many people and it's your job to give off good influence, including your roles in projects.
Truly, Keann is a man of many interests! Open to many things; this man is not only talented but kind as well. We can say that this is just the beginning of his career as a new actor.
