The Fashion Institute of the Philippines (FIP) marked a milestone with a dazzling graduation showcase, "Twenty Designers, 80 Looks, 21 Years of Fashion," held at The Podium Hall. This year's collection celebrated over two decades of the institute's commitment to honing Filipino fashion talent and pushing the boundaries of creativity.

With twenty emerging designers presenting their final works, the runway was an explosion of innovation and artistry. Each collection reflected a blend of bold experimentation and a deep respect for traditional craftsmanship—an ode to the diversity of Filipino fashion.

Backstage, the energy was palpable. FIP alumnus Alvin Chua, who has since made a name for himself in the industry, gave us a tour behind the scenes, where last-minute adjustments and styling magic unfolded. Fashion photographers Troy Ang and Ben Bigs captured every moment of this fast-paced creative process, immortalizing the collections before they hit the runway.

This year's awards highlighted the technical mastery and design brilliance that FIP nurtures in its students. Uno Almogela took home the prestigious Best in Fabric Manipulation award, stunning judges and spectators with their intricate handling of textiles, transforming fabrics into structural masterpieces. Teng Surisantos swept multiple categories, bagging awards for Best in Patternmaking, Best in Garment Construction, and the coveted Designer of the Year title. Surisantos' collection was a testament to impeccable tailoring and forward-thinking silhouettes, setting a high bar for future graduates.

From voluminous gowns to sleek and modern streetwear, the 80 looks presented at this event demonstrated the diversity and rich cultural heritage that continues to inspire Filipino designers. It was a night that solidified the institute's place as a driving force in shaping the next generation of Filipino fashion creatives. The spirit of Filipino fashion is truly thriving! Here's to the future of FIP and the incredible designers it brings into the world.
