At first glance, Anthony Constantino is your classic "tall, dark, and handsome" leading man. But behind the sharp looks and confident presence lies a story of duality,  growing up Filipino in America, learning to honor his roots while carving his own path, and stepping into the spotlight not just for fame, but for purpose.

Born and raised in sunny California, Anthony’s identity was shaped by both the warmth of Filipino family life and the fast-paced culture of America. “I was raised in a Filipino household, surrounded by the values and traditions that reflect our culture, but outside of home, I was immersed in American society,” he shares. “That cultural duality shaped me.”

From weekend Pacquiao viewing parties filled with trays of pancit and lumpia to childhood basketball games with his dad, Anthony’s memories are stitched together by the unmistakable fabric of Filipino culture. And of course, no Filipino upbringing would be complete without karaoke. “It didn’t matter whose birthday it was, someone was always on the mic,” he laughs. “It wasn’t just about singing, it was the vibe, the laughter, the love.”

Brains Meet Hustle

Not just a model and rising actor, Anthony is also a double degree holder in Computer Information Systems and Business Marketing. It’s a rare mix, but one that reflects his balanced mindset. “One of my degrees was my safety net,” he explains, “but I also made sure to choose something that genuinely fits me.”

His love for tech and creativity both shine through, and his experience working at Apple only amplified his passion for solving problems and building things from the ground up. “I enjoy putting time into something that’s not working and seeing it all come together. I’m very hands-on.”

That work ethic was put to the test the moment he landed in the Philippines. “I hit the ground running, I was working almost every day,” he says. A fashion and commercial model, Anthony soon caught the attention of GMA’s Sparkle, the entertainment arm of one of the Philippines’ biggest networks. “Showbiz had been brought up before, but timing is everything. When Sparkle reached out, it just felt right.”

What made him say yes? “Sparkle believed in me. When someone sees your potential and invests in your growth, that’s something you don’t take lightly.”

On Acting, Identity, and Speaking the Language of Home

Now officially signed with Sparkle, Anthony is entering a whole new chapter as an artista. He’s eyeing roles in rom-coms, action, and comedy, but he’s also clear about wanting to evolve over time. “I’m definitely open to more dramatic and challenging roles,” he says. “I want to grow and push myself creatively.”

Part of that growth means learning Tagalog, something deeply personal for Anthony. “I want to speak the language not just for my career, but for my family. My Lola would be so happy if I spoke fluently the next time I saw her.” He smiles. “That’s a big goal for me.”

Barong in the Spotlight

A recent career milestone came when Anthony modeled the official Barong Tagalog for the Paris 2024 Olympics, designed by renowned Filipino designer Francis Libiran. “It was a full circle moment,” he reflects. “Growing up, I saw my Lolo wear a barong, but I didn’t fully understand its meaning. To now wear one on an international stage, it’s one of the proudest moments of my life.”

For Anthony, the barong isn’t just a piece of clothing. It’s a symbol. “It represented Filipino pride. It was a reminder of where I come from, the culture I’m still learning, and the deep connection I’m building with my roots.”

Proudly Moreno, Proudly Filipino-American

In an industry that often favors fair skin, Anthony doesn’t shy away from representing moreno beauty. “Being moreno is one of my biggest flexes,” he says with conviction. “It’s part of who I am. It’s something no one can take away from me.”

That sense of pride extends to his mission to help other Filipino-Americans feel seen. “I plan to use my platform as a bridge. I know what it feels like to grow up caught between two worlds. If I can help even one person feel closer to their heritage, then I know I’m doing something right.”

Looking Ahead

Five years from now, Anthony sees himself as more than just an actor or model—he sees himself as a global creative force. “In this industry, you need to be everything,” he says. “I want to represent Filipino talent not just here, but back home in L.A.—the global stage for TV and film.”

Currently repped by Main Models, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Anthony feels honored to be part of an agency that champions diversity. “Main Models only work with the best, and I’m proud to be among them. This milestone feels like a new beginning.”

As he continues his journey from California courts to Manila film sets, from modeling barongs to memorizing Tagalog lines, Anthony Constantino remains grounded, grateful, and proudly Filipino.
