Jooan on His Musical Journey and Being Main Vocalist

Jooan has not only made an impressive mark in Wild Idol but as TAN's main vocalist as well. His love for music since then has helped him garner such a position and ace every stage he has stepped on. As a passion-on-passion performer, he's an embodiment of what anyone could be with hard work and talent combined.

That's right! Jooan says he wants to be an idol who always delivers good music to SODAs. Since he was younger, he was already exposed to the world of music as he majored in musicals in high school. Being an idol wasn't something he would imagine becoming, for he once thought of standing on a musical stage. But destiny is working on different lyrical magic and eventually paved the way for him to be a member of TAN – something he takes so much pride in being a part of, and we're proud to witness. Though the dream of being in a musical remains, we're excited to see what the future holds for him!

With a mellifluous voice and captivating stage presence, musical guy Jooan is equipped to forward his passionate vocals to the rest of the world with his so-called brothers in the industry. Here's our special sit-down interview with TAN's main vocalist.

Q. Describe Jooan in three words.

Jooan: TAN, Music, Genius

Q. You were trained in musical theater. Can you tell me more about that experience?

Jooan: I majored in musicals at an art school in high school. When I was in high school, I didn't think I would be an idol. I thought I would make a living doing musicals and making my own music. If I get a chance next time, I want to stand on a musical stage.

Q. What do you like most about being the main vocalist of the group?

Jooan: I think the best thing about it is that they trust me that much. And as the main vocalist, I would be lying if I said there was no pressure. As the main vocalist, I take a lot of parts and focus, which means I must do my best to contribute to my team.

Q. What's a genre you haven't tried before that you want to explore now?

Jooan: Personally, I want to try music with mixed acoustic and trendy beats.

Q. How do you want to be recognized for?

Jooan: I hope that many people will look up to TAN as their role models.

Q. What were you excited about your tour in the Philippines? And describe what you felt after meeting Filipino SODAs for the first time.

Jooan: I was really nervous and worried because it was my first time in the Philippines through TAN, but thank you so much for your hospitality, and I love you 🧡
