In a typical setting of movies, there will be tropes when newcomers will either be heroes or villains. Yara, in this scene, enters as a quartet on a red carpet, with a sparkplug background music in a school hall, fighting the bullies like badasses. Initially known as dancers, they took on the challenge of becoming one of the best rookie P-pop groups to date. Conquering the stage since PoPinoy, they have shown their holistic prowess through their vocals, choreography, and rapping. Now, as one of the most anticipated pre-debuted groups, the PoPinoy girl group grand winners showed everyone that women could indeed run the world.
After their win in PoPinoy, this victor group has huge plans set for the group. As they continue training, they are looking forward to producing a new song specifically for their debut. As more people hyped and support the group pre-debut, they want to prepare nothing less than what they have already shown on stage. But, the local stage might be too small for big dreamers such as these girls. They want to be known globally and showcase what Filipinos got to offer to the rest of the world. These girls’ next challenge is to be on par with other Ppop groups making a name worldwide.
More than anything, these girls are bringing the P-pop pride on their sleeves. Branded by their fans as the “P-pop Butterflies”, Yara is set to inspire and give hope to their supporters and soon-to-be enthusiasts. As Tugatog allows them to reach new highs, they want to be known as a group who are perfectly imperfect. “We want to be known as just us.” Getting to where they are now was not easy, but they are ready to spread their wings to fly high. Not expecting an opportunity such as Tugatog, this mindset is their charm as they are excited to perform on a huge stage for the first time with other P-pop groups.
Our rookie girl heroes are preparing for a fiery performance. They are ready to set the world stage on fire and up to something, as they call, “sizzling hot”.
