Calvin Harris' Funk Wav Bounces Vol 2' — Perfect for Manila's Rainy Summer
Sony Music Philippines and Columbia Records recently threw a listening party for Calvin Harris' highly anticipated sixth studio album, Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2, at the Unwnd Mamser Café in the Unwnd Lux Hotel, Poblacion, Makati City, last August 9, 2022 (Tuesday).
It's been almost a week since the Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2 album was released on all streaming platforms, and if there's anything Calvin Harris can do, it's to have a pool of artists, have them working in a studio, and record tracks with them into a summer disco. The sixth full-length release for Calvin Harris features some of the big artists in music right now—from 6LACK, 21 Savage, Busta Rhymes, Chlöe, Donae'o, Halsey, Latto, Coi Leray, Lil Durk, Dua Lipa, Normani, Offset, Pusha T, Charlie Puth, Shenseea, Jorja Smith, Snoop Dogg, Stefflon Don, Swae Lee, Justin Timberlake, Tinashe, Pharrell Williams, and Young Thug.

The Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2 is a great follow-up to the post-disco funkadelic album staying true to its funky sound that we loved on the first album, but this time, it's bigger and better. From "Obsessed" feat. Charlie Puth and Shenseea, to tracks like "Potion" feat. Dua Lipa and Young Thug, "New Money" feat. 21 Savage. A personal crowd favorite seems to be "Stay With Me" feat. Justin Timberlake, Halsey, and Pharrell which essentially captures the entire album. You can easily play this album in succession for your next road trip to the beach as it stays true to that sun-kissed-skin big sunglasses vibes that we all live for.
Calvin dropped the album trailer, which previewed all the tracks on the album. In the clip, he reintroduced the iconic Funk Wav Bounces parrot which first made its debut around the launch of Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 in the summer of 2017. View the album trailer here
