Sarah Geronimo Makes HERstory as One of Billboard’s Global Force Awardees

Sarah Geronimo graces the red carpet

“Women are beautiful, women are strong.”

These were the words that “Popstar Royalty” Sarah Geronimo remarked during her interview with Billboard’s Rania Aniftos and Lilly Singh, as she basked in the honor of being one of the recipients of the international Global Force Award.

The “Isa Pang Araw” singer was recently hailed as the first-ever Filipina to be honored by Billboard Women in Music, making HERstory today, March 7 (PST) in Los Angeles as she graced the red carpet event at the YouTube Theater.

Wearing a crystal-studded, light pink, long gown couture by renowned Filipino fashion designer Michael Cinco, the 35-year-old Filipino icon emphasized the importance of using her platform to inspire positive change.

“Having the power to influence people comes with a big responsibility,” she quipped. “You have to be mindful of the materials you put out there and strive to create change and positivity.”

While the event celebrated women’s accomplishments in the music industry, the “Tala” hitmaker also took a moment to acknowledge the role of men as well. She emphasized the importance of mutual appreciation and support between genders.

“Men are beautiful as well,” she added. “The way they manage and cope with everything that goes on in our minds as women.”

She also expressed gratitude towards her mother, aka mommy Divine, for being the “best” and her “hero.” Moreover, as seen on her stories, Sarah G is being escorted by her husband Matteo Guidicelli, whose Instagram stories almost seem like a fan account for his wife.

The award not only recognizes Geronimo’s exceptional talent but also highlights her commitment to empowering others in the music industry.

“I’m truly honored to be here to represent our country, our music, the Filipino music. Mabuhay ang OPM!” She declared proudly.
