That's Our Queendom! Here's How Pride & Power Celebrates Pride Month

In the LGBTQIA+ community, if you're making a stand, you need to make it explosive.

Spreading glitters to the queendom, Sony Music Philippines and the Pop Emergency Podcast on June 18 celebrated the valuable contributions of the vibrant LGBTQIA+ community with Pride & Power.

The more they gather, the more beautiful they get. Here's how they did it:

Serving music from iconic queer icons

The colors popped off with a set of music from the record label's most iconic queer icons: Beyonce, Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, Lil Nas X, Doja Cat, Ben&Ben, Maris Racal, the Sexbomb Girls, and more.

Drag Queens setting the queendom on fire

Phenomenal on their own, drag queens from Drag Playhouse Philippines graced the center stage as they proudly presented what Filipino drag excellence truly is. Eva Le Queen, Marina Summers, Myx Chanel, Alpha Venti, Prince, and OV Cunt ‘shookt' the entire queendom with their lip-synch performances.

"It's always a good time being very hands-on with them to see how we can best send their message, help empower them in their craft, and share music in a way that's fun, proud, and relatable," shares the Sony Music Philippines team in a statement.

DJs hyping up!

The celebration got even livelier with the music of DJs Jer Dee and Marky Saavedra.

Pop Emergency is a local queer podcast holding virtual music nights since the pandemic and has been a safe space for queer people. With that, their resident DJs Jer and Marky brought the music to everyone's home with their creative minds to mix and incorporate Pop Culture into music, making their past virtual shows and the recently concluded event a major hit to the community.

Surprise! An internet sensation was present

The event didn't lack surprises. Internet sensation Kumare Harvey joined the party.

Launching of LGBTQIA+ playlist

Everyone loves music, and so does the community. They listened to some of the fiercest bangers and the event didn't disappoint them. Excitingly, Pride & Power launched a year-long Pride and LGBTQIA+ playlist, YASSIFY, on Filtr Philippines. Time for you to download the playlist, put your headphones on, and jam to your favorite beats.

Pride & Power champions the enduring Pride anthems of the past and present. It shouts that Pride shouldn't be locked to only a month of celebration, but all-year-round and even after.

Throw it! The queens are making the rules 'cause it's their queendom. 🏳️‍🌈👑
