Putting facial oils on an oily face just irks skincare users who want that squeaky clean feel on their face. But Pili Ani says, fret not! Introducing their Self-Care Night Recovery Oil, Pili Ani assures every skin type to enjoy the benefits of Pili and Elemi Oil in one. The product was initially inspired to deal with maskne during the pandemic.

Pili Ani’s co-founder Ms. Mary Jane Tan–Ong noticed their Marketing Manager, Hanna Felipe’s breakout during the pandemic and offered the product to try on. Hanna shared how the product soothed her skin after continuous use and eventually launched it as their newest product this month.

Specifically formulated to boost hydration and protection at night, when the skin needs it most, the Pili Ani Self-Care Night Recovery Oil is made of Pili Oil, which is intensely moisturizing, rich in natural antioxidants, and vitamin E. On the other hand, Elemi Oil has firming properties, is anti-inflammatory, and helps restore skin, balances sebum production, and reduces skin problems such as acne and dry or oily skin.

To further aid in the skin rejuvenation process, the Pili Ani Self-Care Night Recovery Oil also contains Squalane, Arnica Montana Flower extract, Evening Primrose, Calendula, English Lavender, Sampaguita, Rosemary Leaf oil, Blue Chamomile, which all serve to soothe, moisturize, tighten and address various skin problems such as redness, irritated skin, fine lines, and dryness.

“We added sampaguita as a nod to our Philippine heritage - on top of pili and elemi oils”, making the new night oil proudly Filipino as it is.

Regardless, Pili Ani’s founders Rosalina and Mary Jane Tan–Ong expressed their plans of going global with the local brand. Mary Jane Tan disclosed their future launch in China and the US this year while Rosalina Tan is eyeing the European market with their current line of products.

With their desire to be globally known with a homegrown brand, Hanna Felipe says, “I hope we made you proud with our own Filipino-owned and Filipino-made products.”

What makes this oil truly world-class is its usability, according to Dra. Riza Milante, the Self-Care Night Recovery Oil is safe for all ages since it targets acne and its ingredients are anti-bacterial; just make sure to do a patch test to know if it’s safe for your skin type. Even so, they claim that whether you have dry, oily, combination, sensitive, or acne-prone skin, this is safe for all, which is very rare for facial oils!

How to use

Apply at least two to three drops on clean, dry skin at night after using Pili Ani’s Gentle Face Cleanser. Apply Pili Ani’s Youthful Glow Facial Cream for best results. But if you’re just lazy or too hesitant to put layers of moisturizers on your face after cleansing, the Self-Care Night Recovery Oil can be used alone and let it do its magic every night.
