10 Exciting Ways to Keep Your Wanderlust Alive

For the past few years, I've spent most of my time staying cooped up at home ever since the pandemic started, and with that, the idea of even traveling already feels like a distant dream. But I've then realized that despite these difficult times, it doesn't always have to be that way. For any of you who have that spark for adventure, I've come to share some ways I've tried to help keep my wanderlust alive for years.

Learn a New Language

Do you already have a destination in mind? Why not try to learn their language before getting there? This way, you can look forward to visiting and making new friends along the way. That, or you can just learn it for fun!

Plan Ahead Your Next Trip

One of the best things about planning a trip is all the excitement that comes with it. Doing research and slowly putting together all the pieces of your journey is half the fun! By the time your trip finally comes around, you'll be more than ready to go!

Make a Scrapbook of Your Travel Moments

Travel scrapbooks are a great way to keep your wanderlust alive. Filling them with your best travel moments is both satisfying and nostalgic. They help us remember all the fun times we had and keep the fire of our wanderlust burning.

Be a Tourist in Your Own City

If going abroad or traveling to farther areas can be difficult for now, why not explore your own city or hometown? Most people these days are quite focused on going abroad but often miss what is just right under their noses.

Create a Travel Bucket List

There's nothing like setting your sights on something you really want to do and then making it happen. A bucket list is a great way to make sure you get to experience all the things you've always dreamed of. So if you're feeling the urge to travel and see the world, why not start planning your ultimate trip today?

Start Saving Up for the Next Journey

There's that little satisfaction and excitement as you watch your savings grow bigger and bigger until it's enough to get you outta there. While some things are still quite limited in today's norms, you can start saving and aim high for when things are ready to go back again!

Make a Travel Blog

Are you interested in starting a travel blog? You can use whatever pictures, videos, or journals you have from your travels to create exciting and informative content. This is a great way to share your experiences with friends, family, or other people who are interested in travel. Start sorting through your materials and get started on your next project today!

Stalk your favorite places

If I'm going, to be honest, I do this very often than I'd like to admit. When I've had my mind set on a place I want to go to, I can't help but take a look at it as much as I can over social media or Pinterest.

Join Travel Groups

I'm pretty sure that many of us out there also want to express how we feel about our desire for adventures. There are a bunch of options we can try to find such groups. You can join a travel group on Facebook or look for forums on Reddit and chatrooms dedicated to travelers (e.g., Telegram and Viber). Don't miss out on this great opportunity to explore the world with new friends!

Read or Listen to Travel Stories from Others

If you're feeling stuck in a rut, hearing about other people's travel experiences can be just the thing to reignite your own wanderlust. Whether it's through listening to stories, reading about faraway places, or watching videos of other peoples' journeys, learning about different cultures and worlds can be a hugely inspiring and motivating experience.

So you see, guys! There's always a way to keep our spirits strong to the things we like most. Things might be tough now, but they won't stay that way forever. The key is to keep your head up, and your heart open. So hang in there, and don't forget to keep that spark of wanderlust alive.
